Compliance and regulation
Compliance that keeps you inspection ready without slowing you down
Policies, registers and records that stand up to an inspector, written so your team can actually follow them. Practical support for nurseries, schools and regulated businesses.
Sound familiar?
- Policies still reference last year’s frameworks
- Nobody is sure the single central record would pass a check
- Evidence for an inspection or renewal is spread across files and inboxes
- Actions from the last visit were never fully closed
- Compliance depends on one person who is already stretched
What is included
Site visits and audit reports
A walk round of the premises and records, with prioritised actions and named owners.
Policy reviews
Every policy checked against the current framework, with the exact paragraph to change and the wording to use.
Single central record checks
Gaps in your SCR and recruitment files found and fixed before anyone else finds them.
Compliance registers
One register showing what is due, when, and who owns it.
HR documentation
Job descriptions, contracts and staff records that match what the regulator expects.
Action plans
A clear plan after each visit, followed up until every item is closed.
Frameworks change. Your policies need to keep up.
The EYFS statutory framework 2026 and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026 both apply from September 2026. Policies that still reference earlier versions are one of the first things an inspector notices. I review them line by line and give you the exact changes to make.
I support nurseries and early years settings, independent schools, and contractors working towards schemes such as SafeContractor and CHAS.
How it works
Initial call
A free conversation about your setting, deadlines and concerns.
Site visit and review
A walk round of the premises and records, with a written report.
Action plan
Prioritised actions with owners and dates.
Follow up
Regular visits or check ins until every action is closed.
How pricing works
I offer hourly and project options, depending on the work involved. Short calls and quick questions are not charged.
Defined pieces of work can be quoted at a fixed price after an initial conversation.

Questions
Are you a substitute for legal advice?
No. I help you meet regulatory standards in practice. Where a legal question comes up, I will say so and suggest you take legal advice.
How often should we have a compliance visit?
Many settings choose monthly or termly visits, with an extra review before an expected inspection.
Can you help after a poor inspection?
Yes. I can work through the report with you, build the action plan and support you until the actions are complete.
